Science March Speech
Today is a march for “science.” It is amorphous march, for all things scientific. It is not a march for climate change awareness, though that is part. It is not a march to allow for the teaching of evolution in schools, though that is part. It is not even a protest of funding cuts, though I’m sure many here are concerned there. No, it is a march for “science.”
As most of us probably know, “science” comes from the Latin, “knowledge”, or “wisdom.” It is this that the Trump administration lacks in all measure. His is a world of intuition, where what we feel as humans is more important than the truth. He has milked it all the way to the White House, and now it is our’s to do our best to slow him down.
His appeal did not happen in a vacuum. Little does. It stems from years of the truth becoming more and more difficult to handle. As one devoted to the truth, my heart thus being that of a scientist, it has been excruciating to watch. There was a little glimmer of hope, when Obama became President, but the vested interests made sure his message was dampened. Climate Change should scare the living excrement out of anyone who pays attention to it.
