Moral Principles for Pop
To thine own self be true.
Do unto other as you would have them do unto you, both iterations.
Too each, their own.
Never forget to dream.
“Good” and “evil” are terms that are too relative to be useful. “Right”, as in “correct”, and “wrong” are a better way of looking at morality. There is a successful and incorrect way of existing.
Moral truth is known by all normal (not autistic, psychotic, or otherwise morally deranged) people.
Don’t kill a member of your in-group.
Don’t steal from your brother.
Don’t steal each other’s mates.
Don’t hate a member of you in-group.
Protect your in-group.
Family comes first, above all other concerns.
Liars suck.
Pair bonding is a good thing for society to allow.
These, and I’m sure there are others, are things that we are evolved to feel are just. If they shown not to be evolved characteristics, then they don’t belong of the list. “Evolved” includes cultural adaptation.
Societies create all sorts of other laws and rules to deal with out-groups, how to deal with these things, and the role of the individual (any many many other things). However, those things all of us feel innately are those things upon which ethics should be based.
The moral purpose of life is that we are all in this together, so helping each other get through this shit is it.
