Righteous Indignation
“Righteous Indignation”, I looked it up, is the feeling of indignation, of being wronged, because of a righteous or morally correct position.
I am righteously indignant
justifiably so
at the way I’ve been treated in this Shakespeare class I took.
I can show,
like prove,
that the real reason I received a non-passing grade was that the instructor didn’t like my writing style.
Because I feel strongly about stating fact as fact, opinion as opinion,
with phrases like, “because I feel…”
I failed one major paper, got Ds on most of the rest, and an idle C+.
Because I refused to conform to some universal English class “right way,”
and only because of this,
they hold over me the inability to graduate college.
This is the way the system gets you.
Somehow they’ll always manage to make you sell out.
Sick and Wrong.
So I’m appealing to the Provost.
